This is my brother's wedding and I was SO excited to shoot it. Weddings are so special for me as the photographer at a 'normal' wedding but being involved in my brother's wedding was just so much more emotional. Especially when editing them - I felt as if I got to live the day all over again.
Geoff and Kate actually got married in front of a handful of family back in October last year, as Kate's dad was very sick. He did manage to give her away, something that Kate was adamant was going to happen. Kate's beloved dad, Gerald, passed away four days later. The 22 of February was the date of their original wedding, so they decided to celebrate their marriage - this time, in front of all their friends and family.
I do apologise in advance, if you've stumbled across my website, decided to read my blog - this post has a LOT of photos. :)
That day it was scorching hot. We all started off in the marquee to cool down and to grab a few quick family photographs before the kids start to expire. These gorgeous kiddies are my cousin's children.
Uncle Pete is raring to go!
Even I managed to get in a photo! This is me and my beautiful daughter.
And then it was time for the ceremony!
My little brother. :)
My other little brother. (In the police uniform). :)
Kate's brother Ashley starts out with Kate's sisters Signe & Helen, who is holding the couple's baby girl, Bridget. x
Kate's mum Chris and her brother Robert walk her down the aisle.
Love this one of Geoff, as he watches his wife walk towards him.
My sister Beck, performs a reading. Just. (Long story).
Family photo time!
Was weird handing over my camera for my shots! And yes, I'm wearing jandals..
Then down the road for some shots with the bridal party.
Kate and her sisters, Helen & Signe.
Now for the boys. Awww... so proud of him!
Steve & Dan.
Signe, Chris (Kate's mum), Kate and Helen. I am so happy to say I'm now related to these lovely ladies. xxx
Dan, Dan, Geoff's Grooms-man. (Sorry, had to say that). Hah, and you thought I wouldn't post these. NEVER act the goat in front of a photographer. :)
Our kids call Kate "Aunty Doctor Captain Kate". Because she is. And she has the medical bandage on the car to prove it.
Our mum passed away 4 years ago, and Kate's dad Gerald, in September last year. Was lovely that we could honour and remember them both and we know that they are looking down at us, and would be so so proud of Geoff & Kate today. Although mum liked to say, she'd be looking up at us.
What a glorious day and a beautiful setting.
Dad kicks off the speeches.
My very talented sister, Tor, sings them a song...
I love this shot of my sister, Beck.
Holly gets up to sing and blows me away. Gave me goosebumps and I'm so proud of her. xxx
Kate & Geoff - it was my absolute pleasure to document your day. You guys and Bridget are loved very much and we're so happy to be able to celebrate your day. xxx
